If they focused more on extreme cases of animal cruelty, I think more people would support their efforts and they'd be more widely accepted.  Also, I don't think they know how to pick their fights.  They go after the wrong groups for the wrong reasons.  For a recent example, PETA is attacking the military for training their medical staff with dead pigs and other animals.  The US military, trying to give the medics hands-on experience, is being attacked by PETA. They do only show you the bad, and sometimes they are taking things too far, for example the horse and carriage situation, or attempting to convince the whole world to be vegan. I think certain animals are okay to test on like rats, mice, ginny pigs, and other small things like that.
